Sewing & Handicrafts Workshop (Preschool)

Little Hands at Work: Skills Developing Through Play

Learning Safely, Not with Needle and Thread:
The Most Fun Form of Primary School Preparation

Our Sewing & Handicrafts Workshop is a completely safe and play-based development area designed to support the fine motor development of our preschool students.

Our education begins with plastic needles and special perforated boards for children's safety. In this process, our little ones learn to thread through holes, focus attention on a single point, and hand-eye coordination as if playing a game.

The most important part of our workshop is Punch embroidery. This technique gives the child the correct pencil-holding reflex because it is done with the movement of inserting and removing a needle into fabric. Our children who freely choose colors and create their own patterns both experience the joy of producing an artistic work and prepare their finger muscles for primary school writing work.

Sewing workshop experience
This workshop strengthens fine motor skills, which are the foundation of academic success. The finger muscles of children doing punch and needle work develop, which makes the process of holding a pencil and writing properly in primary school much easier.

Workshop Goals

This workshop aims to give our little students the patience to "finish what they started," increase their self-confidence by developing hand skills, and support their aesthetic perception through play.

Complete Safety and First Step

Plastic needles and perforated boards are used instead of metal needles. In this safe environment, children understand the logic of "sewing" and learn to coordinate hand and eye simultaneously.

Punch Embroidery and Pencil Holding

The way of holding the punch needle is exactly the same as pencil holding. Thanks to this fun activity, children unconsciously strengthen their finger muscles and prepare for writing.

Patience, Attention, and Colors

In canvas and felt work, they learn to follow a pattern, use colors harmoniously, and focus. This process extends attention span in children and develops the feeling of patience.
