Chemistry of Cooking Workshop

Creative Flavor Laboratory Where Taste Meets Science

A Pinch of Science, A Pinch of Love:
Discovering Mathematics and Chemistry in the Kitchen

Our Chemistry of Cooking Workshop is a multifaceted learning space where students don't just cook, but bring science and mathematics into practical life by observing the transformation of ingredients.

While preparing fun recipes like cookies, pancakes, and chocolate with our younger age groups; at advanced levels, we transform stale breads with the "Zero Waste Kitchen" principle and produce winter sauces and pickles with tomatoes and peppers we collect from our garden. Our students learn proportions while using measurements and experience chemical reactions when dough rises.

Not just flavor; our little chefs working on gluten-free nutrition (lentil bread, etc.) and organic living; become self-sufficient individuals by gaining vital skills such as hygiene rules, knife safety, and table manners.

Chemistry of Cooking workshop experience
Our students utilize the winter sauces and breads they produce in social responsibility projects; at the end of the year, they experience the justified pride of the "I can do it" feeling with special presentations they prepare for their parents.

Workshop Goals

This workshop aims to instill healthy eating awareness in our children, establish cause-effect relationships in the kitchen, and raise productive individuals who can prepare and transform their own food rather than consuming.

Science and Mathematics in the Kitchen

They experience mathematics while making volume and quantity calculations with measuring cups; they experience the chemistry of matter (science) while observing cooking, color change, and fermentation processes.

Sustainability and Production

They learn seasonal cycles by transforming garden products into preserves; they learn not to waste and nature-respecting production by reusing food waste (stale bread, etc.).

Life Skills and Self-Confidence

In addition to motor skills such as cutting, chopping, mixing; they increase their self-confidence by gaining the discipline of setting the table, ensuring hygiene, and following safety rules.
